Anyone know how these compare size wise?

What is the ardent like in rocky areas? are the sidewalls tough?

I love my Ardents. Ride them for most of the year.

My sidewalls wear quite rapidly into 'crescents' compared to other tyres.

I'd say the High rollers are taller.

Just did this for a customer asking a similar question ->

"hi

I've measured across the knobbles with a ruler, hopefully this will help?

High Roller 2.5 -> 2.4
High Roller 2.35 -> 2.2
Ardent 2.25 -> 2.25
Ardent 2.4 -> 2.3 "

The Ardent 2.25 is appreciably bigger in volume than a High Roller 2.35 ime - they may not be much taller, but there's more of them. Ditto compared to a Minion DHF. They're good in the Peak, grippy rubber compound and much, much faster than a HR, but they do wear relatively quickly and the tread blocks are shallower to start off with. HTH. As far as measurements go, you need to remember that because the tread blocks are shallower to start off with, a greater proportion of that measurement is air volume rather than tread, if that makes sense.

Side walls are okay in the Peak, somewhere in the middle - not as fragile as, say, a normal RR or NN, but not as tough as some full on rock muncher if that makes sense. They'll go through eventually, but you'll most likely have worn the tread out first unless your lines are terminally rubbish ๐Ÿ˜‰

All imo as a plodding, very average sort of rider.
