How big is a Maxxis Ardent 2.4 ?
As big as a Trail King 2.4 or a little smaller ?

Assuming you're talking 29er it's very similar to the schwalbe hans dampf in 2.35 if that helps. Great tyre as a rear. Sorry, can't compare to conti.

My 26 blows up a bit bigger than my 2.4 RQ.

just been the garage with some calipers.
2.4 ardent on Flow measures 2.19" across the casing.
2.4 conti mountain king on Arch EX measures 2.31" across the casing

Thanks everyone.
So if the M King is coming up bigger on a narrower rim. And it's also a bit smaller than a Trail King the trail King must be a bigger tyre full stop.
