for a patriot with 40mm wide spank rims?
2.4 with that size rim (and i have one thats for sale if you fancy it )
I'd go for the 2.4s on that set up. They are really high volume but offer great cushioning and grip due to being so large. Really good tyre if you can fit them in your bike. Sidewalls on the 2.4s seem a bit tougher than the 2.25s too.
Just wish they did the ust in that size.
crc seems to do 2 versions, a freeride one, and an xc exception one
is it just different compounds?
Exception versions have a very light carcass that is also a fair bit more fragile. I'd not got for that option (pretty sure you can't get Exception 2.4s anyway)
Exception series types are lightweight, thin sidewall racing type types. They also use a 62a compound although I don't think this is significantly different from the normal compound. Check the web site for fine detail though.
Regular 2.4's here, shame the Pace forks don't take them.
I am yet to ride a tyre I trust more.
is anyone using a 2.4 on a Pike or is it just too big?
id be very surprised if it was too wide
just noticed CRC are now listing an 'exo pro' version of the 2.4 advantage
is this like the continental protection tyres i.e. reinforced side walls?
Shouldn't be too wide as it fits Z1SL.
Exo Pro is some kind of sidewall protection.
