Right, so I'm going to convert my Pro2 on the belt-drive bike to a bolt thru to stiffen up the rear end to help prevent ratcheting.
I picked up a 12mm conversion kit from the classifieds, and I've got some new dropouts on order.
My original plan was to use a cut-down Superstar 12mm axle for £15 but I would like some form of QR.
I know there were issues with the old Maxle Lites and Hope hubs (snapping the axles), but are there any benefits on splashing out on the Maxle Lite for £50 or get a "normal" Maxle for £24?

Ideally, I'd go Syntace 12X142, but I can't easily get the dropouts to suit, so keeping it at 135mm.

what are the dropouts you have on order - 12mm bolt through or specific Maxle ones (with the thread for the maxle to screw into)?
That may answer the question for you
If maxle then I would just stick to the normal one at that price to be honest
(edit - I dont think that UK Bikestore link is for the full Maxle, just the replacement internals - the wedge etc)

They're ones I've designed to suit the Maxle. I can cut the thread on the Superstar axle so it screws directly into the dropout, rather than into the nut (they're both M12 X 1.75)

Does anyone know weight saving, or any other advantages of the Maxle Lite?

Hope Pro2 12mm thru-axles snap with regular 12mm axles and 'normal' Maxles as well. They snap quicker with Maxle Lite's. The 'normal' Maxles are easy to fit as they have a smaller diameter section that helps locate the thread.

I've emailed ukbikestore to ask.

quick bit of research:
Maxle is 104g
From reviews, Sram claim the Maxle Lite is 50g lighter (for the front), which makes it ~ 55g.
Which is the same weight as the Superstar...

Malxe lite - hope axle bent after one ride, snapped after three.

BETD Intense solid axle - two or three months to snap.

This is on my Nicolai AM which sees serious use, my friends get longer and most of them use the Maxle, the lightest of the riders has not managed to break one yet in nearly two years.

If your not beasting it the Maxle will probably be okay but I would avoid the lite.

Thanks.
assuming the ukbikestore deal is the full kit, I'll get it, only £9 more than the superstar.
And no, i won't be beasting it. Jeycore-lite all round for me 🙂
