[#2244535]

I've used tubless Rubber Queens with Mavic 317 and thought they were really good, really grippy in my experience in most conditions.
I'm thinking of going to tubeless, UST Mavic 819's, anyone tried 2.4 RQ's on this rim?
Mavic recommend 2.3" max tire for this rim, would the RQ be too much?

I dont really want to go to the 2.2 and loose the Black Chilli compound or the 823 rim and gain more weight

Anyone recommend good all round big volume ust tire??

I use a 2.4 RQ on the front on an XM819 seems to work fine

Hey thanks thats good to know, I am usually a bit sceptical about manufacturers recommendations on max tires, but the RG is such a big tire

There is a a Rubber Queen 2.2 UST with black chilli out in the new year, if that is any help.
I use the 2.2 with the 819 no problem, I can't use the 2.4's as they don't fit in my frame.

like james, i've also got a 2.4 on 819 front, 2.4 is too big for my frame so i use a 2.2 RQ on the back (on an 823 rim) - still comes up quite big, and super grippy.

I've run a 2.4 RQ on the front and a 2.2 on the back, both UST, both 819s, for about a year. The 2.4 on the front is outstanding, I'm going to be on this for the forseeable. The rear is just ok - nothing wrong with it but doesn't stand out to me particularly. Certainly not a grip monster.

I thought it was the 2.2 that was black chilli and the 2.4 that was not in UST? Or is that backwards?

As far as i can find out only the 2.4 is Chilli, its made in Germany
The 2.2 is manufactured in Taiwan and hasnt used the chilly so far.
A 2.2 would i'm sure sell well

I have checked the back with my new frame with a tubed RQ 2.4 and it will fit quite easilly so it would be an option.
Though i wouldnt say its a bad thing for the rear to break away first so the slightly less grippy 2.2 may be a good idea

I'm building up a long travel hard tail, thought the RQ would give a bit if cusioning - ive been FS for about the last 12 years!
