I'm considering 160 mm forks (second hand probably). I get the impression marzocchi were great, then went through a bad patch quality wise and now are really good again. Which year/models should be avoided?

i think its just the 08 and 09 ones

my 07 66s have been very very good

and the 2010, 2011 ones seem to get a lot of praise, especially the RC3 Ti ones

If it's of any interest, I'll have a set of 55 RS's for sale in the next few days. White with Black stanchions. 1 1/8" steerer, Good condition.

They're an 08 model, but have been absolutely great. Will only be looking for c. £175 posted for them. drop me a line if you're interested and want some pics.

The basic 55r from that period had failing damper carts, and I think the ATA model suffered from problems with the mechanism.
New range came out 2010 with re designed internals and 3yr warranty. 2011 and apparently 2012 identical as marz introduced a 3yr model cycle. Some of the lowers will be stamped 2009 as they obviously used old stock parts that hadn't been changed (outers same, internals different).
Got some 2010 RC3Ti but haven't even fitted them!
