Maxxis crossmarks, had a full season on em and well worn. Tyre choice aint really that big an issue when you "got the skills to pay the bills" ๐Ÿ˜•

I'll be out on the MTL for a bit on the 'cross bike but then I'll be heading down the PBW from Summit.

What time's KO from Waterfoot?

I'm up up for it, 4th year of suffering! Got an email from the organisers saying that it's clockwise this year. Less pushing but longer climbs from experience.

Yeah it was muddy, but loved it. Those cobbles and slabs were slippy.

My bike is almost as broken as me.

So much mud it was like riding with super tacky tyres in marmite.

i was out riding over widdop/gorple yesterday and saw lots of MTL riders...yikes it was terribly muddy and who the hell nearly wiped me and my son out as they came flying down little'Egypt' the tarmac decent...geez he was so fast coming round the bend not paying much attention to whom was on the road ...grrrrr i wud have seriously been injured ...he was centimetres from hitting me... ๐Ÿ˜‰ please ride with due care and attention next time ๐Ÿ‘ฟ
normally there is a mountain rescue van parked at widdop res to clock peoples numbers and free goodies...(didnt see them yesterday...
i did the MTL back in june it was an organised ride with the pennine bridleway Rangers.... good day out and no stress of getting lost or taking a wrong turn...lol
think there was another ride yesterday also ( the Bronte Big K)...did anyone do that ???

Bike needed 2 cleans today. I need a new body. First time round there on a hardtail. I left my arse at the bottom of Rooley Moor.

A group of five of us did it.

Had a great day out, didn't break any time records but happy to get round and enjoyed the blue skies.

Was muddy underfoot and I killed my rear brake half way round so those slabby decents covered in mud were interesting. Rest of the bike was okay however, 1.5inch rear tyre and single speed saw the day out. Mudguards for the win.

Will do it again next year and would recommend to others.

justme, yeh hes fine thanks, well I say fine, his back is still wrecked but his spirts are high. Hes called margin walker on here, saw him earliertoday hes off work and resting, its happened before, not sure of the ins and outs but it "goes" ever blue moon.

Ive told him to MTFU, seemed to put a smile on his face, then again it may have been wind.
