At the weekend (26th/27th June) a group of us rode the Mary Towneley Loop in one hit, starting at 21:30 in the evening. We're keen to find out if anybody else has attempted this whole ride at night? Admittedly, with it being midsummer, the 10hrs it took the group to complete the ride meant that we started and finished in daylight, but we still rode through the whole night.

We can't find evidence online of it having been done over night, anyone know any different?

Was an awesome ride by the way, would definitely recommend it. We went clockwise, starting and finishing at the Ram Inn in Holme Chapel.

Pretty sure it has been done at night before.

A bunch of us did a 40 miler/6500ft ride that night in the Stretton Hills, bloody nice ride too.

Aye, myself and terrahawk do it sometimes. Not in a 'timed' sort of way, it's just good training for races.

Cool, thanks. That's all I wanted to know really. I would've been surprised if nobody had, just couldn't find any mention of it anywhere.

We had a good laugh and it was my first 'big' ride (and my first ride at night) so felt a little like being dropped in at the deep end.

If anyone else feels inspired to have a go, don't forget that the Widdop reservoir section is closed over the summer
