[Closed] Marks on crank axle

Just replaced my bottom bracket bearings and the bearing on one side had corroded to the crank axle. After a spray of WD40 I managed to get the bearing off with a punch but I’ve left some small score maths on the axle, not to mention the mark from the corrosion.
Should I know be concern about the integrity of the axle?

Cheers

James

You can get replacement spindles, if it worries you.

Ah cheers I didn’t know that.
Do they need replacing if corroded or marked?

scoring is a non issue imo.
bit of wet and dry, couple of turns around the bearing surface and you'll clean that corrosion staining right off.

I wouldnt worry at all.

On my CAAD12 the internally routed front mech cable cheese wired my crank axle, over what must have been a fairly long time as its cut quite a groove it in, and its not failed yet.

A bit of minor surface corrosion and scoring wont matter at all. As said, lightly sand it, grease it up and put it back together.
