I've heard tell that marine grease is awesome. I what for hubs and through axles.
Any experience?
Very, very boring Xmas eve.
Yup, the stuff meant for boat trailer wheels is what I use.
What's it called Ben? I need to grease the wheel bearings on my trailer.
It's white.
Duckhams used to make something called Keenol. We got it from boat yards.
The mini oil refinery place in the woods behind the house does some great stuff. A couple of quid a 500g tin. if you are ever in the woods near Dowies in the FoD aim for Bream and look for Forest lubricants.
It's Lubrimatic stuff - though TBH I don't think it's any better than Weldtite.
I use some water pump grease that I've had for years that I got from an independent manufacturer (GB Lubricants in Gateshead) Always worked well.
Been using Sta-Lube for 20+ years now... http://www.amazon.com/Sta-Lube-Marine-Trailer-Bearings-14-Ounce/dp/B000KKLLPS
Its Marine grade "Boat Trailer Bearing Grease". Very stringy and sticky.
Very effective and good for hub/headset bearings on winter bikes.
Castrol cl grease
Is this similar to the stuff you get free with a Santa Cruz grease gun?
