I have always used Map My ride to do routes for my Garmin Edge 305 but it seems to web site has been updated as after I did a new route last night I have always exported it as a tcx file into the Garmin Training centre site and onto the Garmin but unless I am missing some thing I can not seem to export it as a tcx file. Can any one help please or is there now a better site to do routes on for the Garmin

I used Mapmyride last week for the first time in ages and was unable to save in TCX format so tried GPX for the first time and thought it was much better!
I generally only map road rides, GPX actually gives you alerts and turn by turn directions (with road names) whereas TCX just gives you a line on the map. Also tried it on an off road ride at the weekend - downloaded someone else's GPX for Skyline and it was giving me turn by turn directions (compass bearings/direction) there too.
No doubt this is old news to most but not me 🙂 Despite owning a 705 for a few years now I've never really worked out how to navigate properly with it!
