Got the chance to buy some discounted Manitou R7 Forks. Don't know much about them. Anyone used these and have any feedback?
They look very light for the price but you don't see many around. Is there a reason?
Cheers.
Jon.
Arse-Heaven... *s*****
saw some at the weekend on a bike ridden very quickly by the manager of our LBS. Doesn't necessarily mean they're any good but I doubt he uses rubbish.
He had them on a diTec hardtail frame (who I've never even heard of).
for fast xc use and racing they are top banana as long as you're not a lard arse..i.e over 12st. think of them as Rockshox SID without the noodliness. It does depend on the year of manufacture though.2005 2006 models had a few issues with the SPV valves, but later models and the new ones are very good. If you ride lots of trail centre stuff and aren't going to race/enduro I'd go for something a bit more robust.
