Chesty cough, flem etc. Do you wait till recovery or do you go ride your bike regardless?

Use the neck rule - if all symptoms above the neck go ahead and ride, otherwise recover.

If a chesty cough then rest.

I developed pleurisy once from doing a hard ride with a chesty cough. Coughing up blood and everything!

Go out regardless, or even especially. Usually clears me tubes, and always makes me feel better. Unless it's proper flu with a fever and aches, then it's time to get out the whisky bottle

since giving myself a proper chest infection after ignoring a chesty cough and pushing on, i tend to rest now.

Cough and plegm isn't really man flu. Sounds like a cold.

Proper flu will have you in bed for 5 days.

Man flu is bad... you won't think of even going for a ride. You'll feel bad, but it's not flu.

I did a running race 2 weekends ago, on similar symptoms. Took it easy.

The week after the cold got worse, only just starting to get over it now.

Have a bit of a walk (dogs are useful for this).

If you feel like death warmed up afterwards, leave the riding for a bit.

Excersizing when you have a cold / manflu is not a good idea. Stay home.
