I'm in Manchester City Centre, walking round as it started to get dark and there seemed to be a lot of commuters on bikes, so there I was admiring at some bikes and wondering at others when I noticed one then another and then several more bikes with a red light facing front and a clear light facing out back?
Is this normal? I mean for commuting, I thought practical joker at work on the first one then at least 10 other bikes were the same so is it office joker or for riding up one way streets in the wrong direction or maybe it's just to be different?
I thought if some one here commutes in Manchester they might have this reversal?

They often use a rear light up front to remind themselves how much they hate the colour red.
That's probably right, a mate of mine many moons ago would only smoke regal red packet, Sheffield united fan.
He would rather do without than smoke the same fags from a blue packet, Sheffield Wednesday.
