[#3782644]

Hi,

I am recently divorced and am looking to get back in the saddle, so to speak...i have a 3 year old daughter who spends the majority of her time with me so my chances to cycle are often spontaneous and/or limited (i'm not selling myself very well here, am i!), and i'm looking to find a female equivalent in the local area - the local area being anywhere from Bingley across to Hebden and Tod.

As you can see from my forum name I'm fairly easy going
I like long rides, mainly at weekend
But will also do a hard midweek ride if asked nicely
I live near Rivington, but will travel for the right partner

I'm not actually a girl yet, but am well on the way
I have the op next year to remove all traces of my manhood
But can meet before then if you are open minded

IanMunro - OMGoodnessme

You ducking well better KEEP hiding behind distance and anonymity you chickenshot poltroons. You people are blithering, no-good, chickenshed cowards. Not one of you yellow bellies would dare approach me in person and interfere with me in this way. I goddamn dare you to come to me face to face this way. I tucking well dare you

That guy was angry!

"oblong" the odds are long that your MTBing shag fantasy will come true...

There are only 17 female MTBists in the whole of the UK 4 are lesbians (actually there is a 5th but she's still in the closet) 10 are married the remainder are in committed long term relationships with proper outdoorsy butch fellas who spend their time surfing, parachuting, preparing Gormet meals from scratch, generally looking attractive and being irresistible to women...

A divorced bloke with kids and no free time is probably not ticking all their relationship boxes if we're honest...

Why not just join a local MTB/cycling club do a bit of riding, put finding a new Girlfriend on the back burner and maybe get used to being a well adjusted single person again, after all nothing puts a Woman off like the smell of desperation...

'Fitness singles' is what you want.

I have met a number of lovely ladies for mtb'ing etc. from there including the current miss4real who's company I've been enjoying for over a year now ๐Ÿ™‚

You're clearly not shy, just register and pay for 6 months you'll be bound to meet someone - in fact a girl i dated was from Bingley! - there's plenty in West Yorks !!

I got myself a female mountain biker, been married to her for last 21 years. They are out there, sometimes you have to find a novice and train her up, buy her a bike etc.
Join the local chapter of the CTC, loads of single cycling ladies there last time I looked, if she's 'the one', she'll be riding a mountain bike soon enough...

Totally unhelpful but that lonely planet thread is awesome, that chap is a ball of pent up rage.

Slightly more helpful - try the CTC or local club rides - mate of mine met his current beau on a long XC spin

OMG! I nearly offered to set you up with one of my friends oblong in an oblique 'forum ride in the upper Calder Valley' type way but luckily read IanMunro's link in the nick of time (how've I missed such a classic? I haven't laughed so much on a wet afternoon for ages). In view of the possibility that you're an unhinged maniac, please could you post a few more details?

Is a biking spouse a good idea?
A man needs a bit of space. Plus they probably know how much bits cost!
