Hi guys,
I ride rigid, but a mate has a set of Vidars knocking around that are mint and I thought for £20 it would be nice to have the option to bang a set on my bike now and then.
The problem is they are very soft and I want to stiffen them up a bit. Can I do this with a heavier weight oil or do I need a firmer spring? Where can I get one if so.
I weight in about 17 stone and I am 6'3. The Vidars are the 80mm travel version.
Cheers in advance for your help.

My Vidars OEM ones where coil and had preload adjust only. Great cheap forks though.
Oil weight just changes the damping not how hard they are. If they are coil sprung (ie have a metal spring inside) then you can either wind up the preload or change the spring. If they are air sprung then you just pump em up.
