I know very little about brakes so some help is needed!

The boy and I both have Magura MT5 brakes on our bikes and have Magura's stock pads. Pads last well in the UK but I've practically gone through my pads after a couple of rides in the UK and one week of riding in Austria. The brakes have been cooking out here!

Just wondering whether there are any better options?

My disks are Storm SL rotors, same ones that came on the bike. Again anything better I could be using?

The Joint MT 5 stocks pads don't last long at all.
If you swap to the individual pads from the MT7 they are much better.
You can get these aftermarket from uberbike here

But it's worth noting that the pads don't come with the retaining screws that you need for the individual pads

The only way I found to get these was to also buy a set of magura mt7 pads pads which come with the screws

I've got the MT7's and I'm running what I always run on any brakes - Superstar kevlar

You'll go through them quite quickly in winter filth, but buy them in bulk and they're cheap as chips

Thanks both. Actually when I said stock Magura pads both have been replaced with the individual pads, so we should have the retaining screws.
