the pad retaining pin is stuck and the allen key socket (2mm) has rounded
whats the better way to remove it, with an easy out, or cut a slot in the other end and screwdriver, or is there something else?

Here's my technique on Marta SL's
Using snipping pliers, snip through the pad backing that the pin passes through, remove the pads.
Use monkey wrenches on the pin - having removed the pads, you'll now have enough room for locking pliers to fit onto the pin.
If you dont get enough grip on the pin, use a small piece of emmery cloth with the grit side against the pin.
Still not budging? I've used a soldering torch to gently warm the caliper.
When refitting - dont over tighten 😉
