I’m off to see my sister for four days and I’m thinking she won’t miss me for one.
Any advice would be great, I’m thinking epic scenery, maybe an uplift to the top of a big lump and spending the day riding down to a shit load of beer.

Near the centre of Madrid is the Casa de Campo. A big area of trees and scrub. There are lots of tracks. Dont think its that big but I thought it looked good for a few hours of riding.

Uplift is available in La Pinilla Bike Park ( https://www.lapinillabikepark.es/), although you'll need a car to get there. If you're happy with the train and actually riding up hills there are loads of places to the west of Madrid, drop me a line and I'll be happy to point out a few places to try.

Of course, if you're willing to give a bit of road riding a go it's great for that too 🙂

Edit: completely forgot, I've got a mate who helps run this:

Great, thanks both.
Mogrim I’ll probably take you up on that.

Casa del Campo is good for a quick blast, although technically speaking all the fun bits are illegal - a bit of sense around walkers and a bit of "me no hablar espanol" would probably work if you did get into trouble. It's very XC though - the perimeter is only 16km and you'll be lucky to get 250m of climbing/descending out of that. It's nice for running though 🙂
