Looking to do this at the weekend.
Does anyone have any pointers or even a route I can upload into my Garmin.

I'd be tempted to do the initial climb on tarmac (opposite the school/by the bus stop) to the top, double back down the green lane on the right,cross the cattle grid, 100yds on the tarmac then left and down to Sirhowy, on to Crosskeys then Cwmcarn.On the way back, i'd go back through Sirhowy, then left just before the cattle grid, hike the scree slope, on to the mast, then your choice of descent back to Machen.
