Are they available anywhere else yet?

Any dicounts on the M970's anywhere that's a better buy?

On looking recently, it would appear that the outgoing 970 seems to cost more then the incomming 980/985.

Slight hijack, but what are peoples thoughts on the 985?

RRP on M970 pedals = £99.99
RRP on M980 / M985 pedals = £119.99

CRC price for the 980 £80. Merlin cycles, M970 £78. My mistake, £2 cheaper for the old ones.

No one pays RRP.

I know no-one pays RRP but as CRC are currently showing RRP as £99.99 on the new version I wonder how long they will be showing their price as £80?

Didzy - yes. According to the 2011 Shimano tech manual I have in my hand there is 4X more pedal to shoe contact than the M970. There is a wider bearing placement, a lower profile, a slimmer & lighter axle unit and an oval axle body housing to improve mud shedding.

snakebite, I'm at the point of picking some new pedals. Why did you go with the 985 over the 980?

Trail as opposed to race. I no longer race so I dont need race pedals....and the trail pedals are bigger so better value....

Mine are the Trail brakes, and I am very impressed with them. Shimano really have eeked some power from somewhere. I probably sold a pair or two last night based on people trying them despite the price!!

I'm quite curious on how the M985 would feel compared to the M647's I have now...

Your LBS quoted 120 as that is the current RRP. CRC have the old RRP and are discounting from that.

The brakes are very nice bits of kit and my XT M775 levers with XTR M975 caliper set will be on the classifieds very soon to be replaced with a set of trail.

I spoke with CRC yesterday as with the 10% voucher the M980 race pedals are really good value.
CRC had 200 sets coming in but 290 back orders. The next delivery is mid-December.

Definitely looking like the ultimate trail centre pedal to me.

Lap times will go down from "*ing slow" to "slow as *"
Control on technical chutes will go from "**** me I'm not trying that" to "I'll think about it next time"

Car park/cafe satisfaction will go from "new xtr is due out soon" to "got new xttr pedals"

hmmmm does that mean we wont be getting any then? as it says i cannot cancel the order now anyways? not that i want to, i dont mind waiting at all, at 71.99 they are a steal....but why an £8 credit, if i havent been charged for them yet anyways?

🙁

basically do you think our orders are still going through? or have we been credited 8quid due to the fact are orders have had to be scrapped? if so gutted 🙁 even in december they would make a nice present to myself 😆

My order says it's processing, and isn't showing any stock. I ordered them when the twitter 10% was on about a month ago, so I'm hoping they'll be in the first batch.

My trails are on my bike and after 3 days I managed to change the cleats in my winter shoesiz. They seems like pedals, kind of a light expensive version of Time-Z's.
