Am struggling to find a replacement bb for my old xtr cranks. Anyone have any tips please? It is not a regular octalink bb, the dura ace & xtr 'spline' is about half the length of the xt spline of the same era I believe....
The pics of the 105 & dura ace look to be the right sort of length, any other options out there?

It's Octalink V1 and V2, as you've found the other MTB BBs had deeper splines, whilst XTR and the road BBs had shallow ones.
If you're running a triple then it really is the M952 and nothing else - the axle lengths on the others will be too short. You may get away with a Dura Ace triple, but no more likely to find one!
