Just a quick numpty question...
The specs for the Shimano wheels XT and XTR all say something about UST compatible (23.3 mm wide UST Tubeless and tubed tyre compatible rim for use with 1.5 - 2.25 inch tyres)
Does this mean you can be used with no rim strip (like Mavic) and also with Mavic valves?

The wheels should come with specific Shimano valves, don't know if Mavic ones are the right shape to seal properly. You can mount a UST tyre straight onto the rim and run tubeless without any additional strip.
I have the 775's and they work much better than the Mavic UST rim I have, you can almost manually blow the tyre up on the rim without sealant, unlike the mavic which needs a flamin CO2 cartridge to do the job. The valves should be the same but they are only a couple of quid anyway....good wheels IMO.

Anyone want to buy some Stans ZTR355 on Hope Pro 2 with valves and rim strip. Two months old ridden a handful of time. Perfect condition!

You can use the 355's without a rim strip too, just the yellow tape. I do anyway!
