Would the m8000 or m7000 levers be compatible with 780/785 calipers? I could easily swap the levers for much less dough and not have to re-route through frame. want the smaller dimpled and most importantly blackness of the m8000 stuff??

Absolutely fine. I run a 675 front lever with a Saint caliper.

I had an slx m675 lever returned from shimano with an m7000 caliper after a warranty claim last year, still working fine
