Anyone know the weight difference is between m666 and m596 brakes
Would also be interested in the weight of the 785's
Performance wise the m596s seem great, just wondering what the catch is.

There isn't any really. Just cheaper build with cheaper materials. Might not last as long over a few years but it's a good chunk of money you're saving.

I reckon SLX (m666) is the best value kit Shimano do, not much lower performance wise than XT, but a big enough improvement to make it worth it over Deore. The brakes are superb, loads of power and really nice levers.
