I'm supposed to be heading to Manchester tonight for a gig (from Coventry). Has it thawed out around there or is it an icy nightmare best avoided?

it's not bad but there is heay traffic at present.
City centre and main roads are fine at the moment ice wise. As Philfive says, does seem to be issues on the M6/M62 around here at the moment though.
BTW.... Meatloaf?
If its Meatloaf, are they going to admit it?

Meatloaf! God no, we're seeing Chapel Club at St Phillips in Salford.
I'm in Liverpool but it's much milder today and most of the ice has melted.
trafficengland has live webcams of the motorways, and incident/delay warnings
The M62 and M56 into M/C were at a standstill this morning due to ice and multi car pile ups 😯
