Minor mishap with my new frame. Does anyone near Nottingham or Sheffield have an M14x1 tapered tap a could borrow for a few minutes?
You sure it's M14?, that's kinda big for a bike frame
1mm pitch is very fine too (for a M14). Not something I imagine many folk have lying around.
It's for a pivot bolt. I agree, M14x1 is an unusual size. It's finer than metric fine but that's what it measures up as. Thought it might be a long shot but wondered if it was spark plug sized.
Might have one at work. Will have a look tomorrow and, if I do, could post it?
If you'd be willing to post tools out to strangers on trust that would be amazing.
Spark plug 14mm is by 1.25 pitch or I could have helped 🙁
Is it a specialised?
Onzadog, I've got a spiral point M14 x 1mm tap. It's designed for using on a machine but does have a lead on the front.
