oh, that's not me, though i do sport lycra myself and am proud of it! i was helping out sofaking with his picture. i think it's a pic of sheldona himself.

Lycra looks odd with armour and I object to it when gratuitiously worn in the pub.

On the plus side, it makes you faster and is more comfy when wet and you don't look like a moto-crosser

If the posted photograph shows Sheldon, then I cannot see what you're worrying about particularly. You look like a (admittedly quite heavily built) cyclist. This is nothing to be ashamed of. 🙂
