Night ride tonight but in need of energy, what are peoples suggestions on good lunch energy food options?
Jacket potato with baked beans and cheese
+1 on the jacket potato, beans and cheese. My current favourite is 2 potatoes, lentil chilli and cheese- not hungry until gone 6pm.
How about eating lunch a bit later?
Eating a shed load of cards in one go might give you a carb crash after a few hours.
A bag of nuts/dried fruit for a mid/late afternoon snack?
I'd eat a normal size lunch then get something else eaten about than an hour before the ride. Bananas, snack stuff etc.
That's what I'd recommend. However, due to evening timings, I tend to go out after my evening meal so spend the first few miles feeling stuffed and slow. Usually start to feel great about 2hrs in and by then I'm usually nearly home again. ๐ No doubt i'll do that again tonight....
