Doing a spot of bike maintenance at the mo.
Can I use Fenwicks General Use Chain Lube (synthetic) on my RS Revelation stanctions?
It looks similar to Finish Line Dry Lube which you can use...

Ok...is Fork Juice as good as they claim or is there anything similar that's just as good (and I can get today!)?

Quid shop silicone lube seems to work just fine on mine to keep things slippery.

Aldi are selling 3 in 1 Silicone Lubricant today - safe on metal and rubber.
Also PTFE High Performance Lubricant - will one of these do the trick?
£4 for 250ml.

why do you want to put oil on your stanchions? Going to end up a horrible dirty mess. You need the oil and grease to be on the inside of the wipers and lowers.

Are you just cleaning up without pulling them apart?

Wipe clean with IPA and stick a bit of fork juice/oil of some sort around the seals. I use Fox's Float Fluid stuff that I got to service my old rear shock and had plenty of the stuff spare so I just stick a bit around the seals where the stanchion sits, cycle the fork a couple of times and then wipe off the excess (else it'll attract crud).

Any silicon spray works fine ime, fork juice and brunox are thicker and I think contain more silicon per mm but everyday spray does the job. And they're all equally terrible if you get them on your brakes 🙂

A little oil or other lube works too but gathers more dirt, hard to know whether it's a net positive.

Enjoy the ride vs. ruining your forks.

Been there and was lucky. Worth the risk vs. bill for new forks or parts?

Call LBS on Tuesday?

Yep it sucks to wait!
