Hi all,
I was bought a lovely 2015 Kona Jake for my birthday this year. My first foray into curly bars for many many years and I love it.
However, I am finding the stock Hayes CX brake calipers a bit obstructive. My heel keep catching the rear caliper as it sticks out too far I feel. The caliper itself lives within the rear triangle rather than on top of the drop out, which I am more used to.
The frame has IS mounts with Post adaptors for 160mm disks.
Can anyone recommend a nice 'low profile' mechanical disk caliper for me please?
Naturally hydraulic are on the upgrade path but not just yet as funds wont allow, plus I feel that the cable ones feel fine for now.
Acor / Juin Tech R1 are very low profile
Spyres are quite low-profile on the outboard side. They're quite high-profile on the inboard side, though: I've found that they can foul the spokes on some (dyno) hubs, although thus far not quite so badly that I can't space the rotors out a bit and just about clear it.

I had noticed the Spyres and read a few reviews but no mention of the inboard clearance issue. Thanks for the heads up.
