[Closed] Low profile helmet light mount

I've got a helmet light (Aldi special from a few years ago) that attaches to my helmet using the standard fat elastic band round a circular bar which then straps to my helmet with velcro. Works well, but it's not what you'd call low profile.

My question is, is there a better (lower profile) way of attaching this to my helmet? There are threads that I could screw something to in the base of the light, but what? I've got a small(ish) gopro helmet mount that could work, but I'd need to get hold of a bit to actually screw into the helmet itself.

Answers on a postcard please!

I think that this is what you want. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133757413120

The Aldi lights seem to be *ahem* inspired by the Lezyne range. Fits mine OK.

I had some chinese Cree things of off eBay, I unscrewed the mount which used the big o ring to hold it and then using some washers bodged it onto a go pro mount, it didn't make it any lower but it did stop it from unexpectedly moving when in use.

Great stuff. A bit more eBay searching has thrown this up which looks like it could work too https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/332229960542

What kind of helmet have you got? I'd be wary of just screwing something into the threaded hole on the helmet as it the weight of a light might put a bit of stress on it.

I recently got a Smith helmet which also has a threaded hole, but it is for fixing a mounting plate. You then mount light/go-pro/whatever to the mounting plate.

It's a Fox Speedframe. I don't plan on screwing anything to the helmet itself though, I was talking about screwing something into the base of the light

Get a screw in go pro adaptor for the light, stick a Go pro base plate onto the helmet (similar to shown above). Buy a click-in go pro mount for the base plate and attach the light with it's new adaptor to it. All can be bought off eBay for a few quid.

I have a Speedframe helmet and have done exactly this with my Exposure diablo. Although they are easy to get a go pro mount for as exposure make them.
