It's quite easy. He's after recommendations for a rear wheel that has a loud free hub. And, because he shops online, he's struggling to hear what they sound like...

...i think.

These aren't hub-based but are loud. 🙂

If you would loud hubs that are decent and good value then you'll struggle to beat Hope ProII Evo. Great value in Hoops form with Stans rims and a satisfyingly loud click.

EDIT: That said, I was out walking the other day and a roadie on what looked to be a very high-end bike rode past. The rear hub noise was LUDICROUS. Like a ProII only much louder and with much more rapid clicks (no, this wasn't just because he was going faster! 😀 ) Anyone any ideas what it might have been?

I'm running both Chris Kings and Hope Pro Evo 2's and the Hopes are far far louder than the CK's. In fact the CK's just buzz and aren't that loud in my opinion. The Hopes sort of "clatter" and let walkers know your coming up behind them.

Could still be Hope... I've got a Pro III on my road bike and it sounds louder than the Pro II on my MTB- dunno if that's all in my head or not though.

+1 for Pro II Evo, it's like waving a football rattle. Though I'm constantly amazed at how many grockles walking in the middle of the bleedin' road STILL don't hear me coming FFS..

Pro 2's are pretty loud but for a loud annoying buzz the Chris King universals on my hardtail are pretty hard to beat , they seem much louder than my mates ISO's (think the noise of a load of 2 stroke 125's racing round a circuit)

My hope Pro3's are really loud. Great for psyching out the rider in front when you freewheel, right behind them. 😀

The new smaller hope pawl springs seem to of made my road pro 3's a little quiter than they were when new. Hope said the smaller pawls are to reduce drag but I guess there is less "twang" now so less noise.
