I was in Holland last week and saw a couple of strange looking "walking" bicycles. Like this.

What's the point?

Big, heavy, cumbersome and expensive.

What advantage over pedalling? Surely there is more impact on your knees and stuff?

Not sure if they would ever really work in the UK as I'm not sure what they would be like going up any type of hill.

If it's a fixed wheel, it might be fun coming down hill.

But if you put a plane on it, will it take off?

Also, that looks to be power assisted which would help.
