This seems a bit strange.

I have just taken the 9sp cassette off of my wife's bike in order to swap the wheels over.

Originally it was a non branded hub and I have not fitted a set of Mavic Crosstrails. Front was okay but the cassette is loose on the rear wheel even after tightening up the lockring. Even stranger is it only appears to be the larger sprockets.

Any thoughts? Is it just a different free hub body on the Mavic wheels causing this and I s a spacer required?

I've a crossride and that came with a 1 or 2mm spacer that fits behind the cassette to stop this happening. I'm sure that it is the same with other Mavic models.

Looks like this Spacer

I had the same problem. The link to the above spacer is what sorted me out too.
