at present i've got some on one retard wheels on my roadrat but I think there going to go to a 29er project, So I'm looking for some more narrow rims, for road use only with disc hubs, geared rear...that are cheep ! whats out there please ?

Mavic Open Pros built onto an affordable disc-compatible hub-set of your choice should do the job.

I've got some Xero Marco 29er/700c 6 bolt disc wheels for sale.
Freehub accepts 9 speed cassette.
Complete with Continental Gatorskin 28c tyres which have covered about 100 miles in total.
I bought these wheels for a Roadrat build that ultimately did not materialise.
