I'm after some lightweight knee and shin pads. I've got the Race Face Charge and TroyLee Shock Doctors on the shortlist. Anything else I should add or any experience of either?

I would recommend troy lee knee pads it doesn't feel like you have them on and they are not a bad price

Following a bad knee injury last year I'm now wearing G-Form knee pads for pretty much every ride.

They are really comfy and don't get too sweaty. I simply haven't noticed I'm wearing them. Did 4.5 hours in them over the moors on Saturday and there were no pressure points or chaffing etc.

How lightweight? 661 4x4s are very light but not mega protecting but they take the sting out of a fall and stop pedal bites. 661 kyle straits and veggie shins is another light option with a little more protecion.
