I've gone and bought a 10speed long cage mech for my fargo without considering that the medium is what was on it aleady (only ever had 9 speed long cage before).

Before I send it back to CRC is there any reason to keep it? Will it work ok? presumably it will be fine, as I imagine the issue only comes if the cage is too short, but just thought I'd ask before making another cock up. ๐Ÿ™‚

Long cage normally for triple
Med for double
Long will work with everything just might not do as good a job with a double and be a rock magnet

yup, I agree, shorter the mech cage, the sharper the shifting, and the less metal to get caught. you'll prob not notice the difference when new if you've changed from a med to a long cage, it's more when they get old and "baggy"
