Got a Sunday free in a couple of weeks, trying to decide which to do?
Cheers
long mynd has a waymarked trail and the bridleways etc are on ordinance maps. the wyre on the other hand,if you don't know where you are going has one fire road family trail waymarked
on the other hand the wyre has some fab trails, but you need to know where they are
Mynd.
Then you have also got Lawley, Caer Caradoc, Stiperstones, Eastridge etc
RD +1
There is a guided Sunday morning ride round the Wyre though.
Not been to Wyre but if you like steep climbs and fast descents long Mynd would get my vote
If the weather is good then go for the Mynd, wind and rain then the Wyre might be best? If you are new to both then the Mynd is easier to figure out although its been a while since I rode the Wyre.

If you want a guided tour of the Wyre, then me a shout with a date/time etc...there is usually a group ride on a Sunday too....
We also have a group ride organised on Sunday 26th June, Long Mynd....
The Long Mynd is now easy to navigate and easy to park with the facilities at Blazing Bikes, Free parking, showers, bike shop and a pub/resteraunt. As featured in issue 63 of Singletrack.
Mmm, could be looking at Long Mynd, however Mortimer Forest has just popped up on the horizon....
Choices, choices...
I rode the mynd a couple of weeks back and did more climbing in two hours than my bro did in a day in the alps lol.
It's got some cracking descents up there.
Wyre I think is a bit flat and you really do need a guide to find anything fun around there.
yes, the wyre is flat and uninteresting and probably illegal to ride ๐
Move along now, nothing to see here ..
+1 for Mynd here and echo Blazingbikes comments above. We had a weekend there a few weeks back and hired one of the camping pods. Great weekend. It's well marked and has something for everyone. Can be bleak at the top when the weather changes mind!
These are not the trails you are looking for.....
waves at plushhillcycles The Anthem is going great cheers guys !

Both are good but get down to the Quantocks if you want some great downhills however theres alot of climbing too. If you want to ride the Mynd give me a shout i know some good routes and be good to ride with someone else
Okay Mike, will give you a shout when I know what's going on.
Cheers,
Jim
The Mynd is only five miles from me so I know it well. You can put a good loop together with Stiperstones and Eastridge etc. I could be up for a ride out as well if you like. I'm doing the marshbrook enduro on the 3rd so need to get some training in.
