[Closed] London Calling & B2W commuter ideas

After recent developments @ work, it would seem I'll be relocating to the big smoke to work on the Crossrail project for the next zillion years.

Now as I live in Cheshire with cracking access to Wales, the Lakes, the Peaks and pretty damm good local riding, I've got to ask what is there anywhere near London town?

I'll more than likely be living in Ealing.

Also as I'm only going to be about 8 miles from work can anyone recommend a good commuter bike I could pick up on the B2W scheme with a monthly budget of say £40 max.
