I'm watching a Cannondale frame on ebay at the moment. The seller states the following:
"The design of this frame comes with the bb30 bottom bracket. I have had a english threaded reducer fitted so I could use my higher end cranks than what the bike came with.
The reducer is loctited in so can be removed by any good cycle shop, I have the original bearings as well so you have a choice on what system to use."
Does this sound like thread lock? How easy would it be to remove?
I've asked the seller if he can tell me what type/colour the Loctite is.
There is loctite remover readily available from Loctite/henkel so shouldn't be a problem
Does the reducer need a special tool to get it out?
I have no idea about the tool. I'll consult Google.
When I looked up Loctite removal it seemed to suggest heating up the object. Not ideal.
