[#5005591]

is it normal to have a bit of squishyness on revs in lockout mode? new 2013 ones if that makes any difference

you can tell they are locked out (much much much firmer than open) but not sure if they should be totally rock solid like my floats were or not?

They should be rock solid. Mine aren't, cos they need a service, but they should be.

Ah, sorry, should have said that mine are an older set (2008 I think) if that makes any difference

Yes (2ml at a time), make sure the gate (if applicable) is on full too to get a solid lockout. Not sure which model you have RLT has a gate, RCT3 is a low speed compression adjust on the silver knob which doesn't affect the lockout 'level'.

Don't compress the forks without the knobs on if RCT3 as you'll fire the low speed comp. rod, ball bearings, oil etc everywhere ๐Ÿ˜‰

loco - they are just the RL model couldnt be bothered with the extra faff ๐Ÿ˜†

so is it just a case of undoing the 5mm hex bolts on the bottom? unscrewing slightly then hitting with a mallet to remove the lowers?

then just top up 2ml on each side? does it need to be in lockout mode when i do this?

they are borderline solid but just a bit of give in them

No remove the compression damper and top up the damper chamber fluid (5wt) at the top, you may want to check the lower oil levels too (15wt).

Not sure about 2013 models but for the 11 and 12 model RLs its normal.

Well, it is on mine anyway. Nice to have a bit of give in the travel if you forget you've locked them out.

Does that model have a floodgate adjuster? if so it should have a bit of movement unless the valve is shut tight.

forgot to add its got a pushloc too, whether that makes a difference!

no floodgate no, not that im aware of, think its just factory set if so?

plain and simple rebound and lockout, and thats enough for me!

cracking forks for the price though, cant tell much difference if any (other than these feel stiffer) from my float FITs

maybe it is normal, like mentioned above there is a massive difference in stiffness to locked from open, so must be working semi properly

No won't damage the fork, it's just the level of the oil and can be adjusted out.
As it's a poplock it maybe that the cable has stretched/slipped meaning the knob is not fully rotating and closing the lockout system fully.

Check the cable pull from the remote. I had the same problem and it was simply that the cable on the remote was not tight enough so wasn't pulling the lockout dial far enough to lock out. A little allen car and some pliers soon sorted that

[EDIT] - just like Loco said above ๐Ÿ™‚

no mate, out and about last night but not up there! was fun but very very peculiar in places, some places had anything from 6ft - 20ft drifts with roads blocked and then places where you expect loads absolutly nothing

i did GB the saturday before last though but only the main BW route, it was sopping wet ๐Ÿ™ so id imagine the woods will be shocking and wet even if not snow covered

do report back though (either here or email) as i may well incorporate it into a ride on friday/saturday!
