I'm thinking it might be a bit of a bog at the moment, anyone been up there recently ? I've never ridden it but know what High Street is like generally.

Cheers All.

I,ve ridden it on a fattie and its fine wet or dry form Pooley Bridge up path is a bit iffy and hard to follow in mist!

Wouldn't recommend Loadpot hill to anyone considering what else is near by

I've ridden down the Pen and it was a forgettable trundle of almost non-existant vagueness through long spiky grass (soft rush). Because it's almost never travelled it isn't boggy, unlike high street which is always wet and draggy unless its frozen hard. Better to climb Arthurs Pike or link Nan Beild into it via Ill Bell.

Cheers John, Arthurs or Nan Beild are no good as I was using the Pen to access a cheeky descent I've had my eye on for a while and make it into a decent day out. Sounds like it might be a go-er with a map and compass. Will let you know how I get on.
