I'm off for a camping weekend near Lampeter with non-biking friends.
Planning on going a day early and getting a days riding in.
Coming from the north I was originally thinking about calling in at Dyfi for an uplift day but that still leaves a couple of hours drive to the campsite after riding all day.
Noticed there are trails at Hafod which is much closer, but know nothing about them.
Then I started to wonder about some XC near Llanwrtyd Wells - I went here many years ago, at least 30years, part of the MBUK Red Kite weekend. Had a quick look at routes but seems, the 'main' ones don't get used as often as they used to and can be overgrown.
Can anyone offer some local knowledge on both Hafod and Llanwrtyd Wells?
Thanks
When are you there?

15/07/26?
Can pm you a gpx if you're not around.
Link removed, but look up Summer Wobble Green Events in google. Its a good laugh and there's always a good bunch of people that attend!
I have a load of Real Ale Wobble gpx's from over the years. It's a very XC orientated event with loads of fire roads. The Trallwm trails have probably gone by now but I really don't know, just an assumption.
Message me your address and I'll send some through if you want.
Locally, don't be tempted by the Doethie valley. It's really not worth it anymore. And it used to be on of my favorite places to ride.
Re: Hafod. I've not ridden there yet but when I called in recently for a coffee and a bit to eat it seemed like a very friendly place. I've no idea about the efficiency of the uplifts but their website says they're good. Looks like a nice variety of trails.
