Hi all

Off to Llanberis at the weekend to 'support' a mate doing a triathlon. I have a window of 2-3 hours available and would like to get a ride in.

Any recommendations?

Thanks all

Pretty sure you could fit in the Llanberis path to the top of Snowdon and back down via the Rangers path and Telegraph Valley. Bit of a push up but a cracking ride down.

Ride over Bwlch y Groes to Waunfawr then along the road to Snowden ranger, up the track from here then over in to Telegraph Valley and back to Llanberis. Finding your way out of Llanberis might be tricky if you don't know it well.

Remember the voluntary Ban is in place on Snowdon itself so you cannot ride that between 10 and 5. YOu could ride up to the top of Moel Eilio and across the 3 summits to Telegraph Valley, may be a bit longer than 3 hours though.

The slate mines loop, but that may be longer than 3 hours if you're not quick uphill on the road.

The triathlon run leg goes through some slate mines, assuming it's the same ones it's likely to be a bit busy.

If you didn't piss about and were reasonably fit, Llanberis out followed by rangers and telegraph back would be about 3.5hrs IMO.

Or Cefn du and up and down Telegraph Valley. That will avoid most of the triathlon traffic and is a 2-2.5 hour ride.
