Right,

Time to clear out the garage and rationalise the bike collection.

Let's assume that including the income from sales of bikes/stuff I have max £1.2k to spend on a 'trail' bike - nothing too technical and almost a 'good bike for a good day' type scenario.

I'm going to keep the FS and the SS but rest others will be culled.

What draws me is the On-One Whippet full build, but sadly need a 16" frame.

What alternatives? Trying to get a nice light bike. Doubt I'll beat the cheapo SS, but....

Carbon 456?

Nearly as light as a whippet but maybe more flexible regards fork length - mine feels great with a 130mm Pace.

Carbon 456s are pretty heavy. Mine built up at about 12kg which was heavier than I expected with the equipment on there. Most of it stems from the fact that the dropouts aren't included in their 1.5kg frame weight and their Smoothie Mixer headset is heavy if you're stepping down to standard 1 1/8 forks.
