Looking for some 32H rims as I need to sell my new built carbon wheels unfortunately.
Already have dt240 hubs to use, what's out there?
Crest is the only one I'm familiar with, maybe something a tad wider....
Any deals going at the mo?
Cheers
Arch at 26mm for 453g
DT Swiss XM421 at 25mm for 465g
Budget option:
I recently built using Mavic XC421.
Not much feedback on this forum so I was hesitant. Now got 250km on them. So far I'm happy for £30 each.
Inner 21mm / outer 25mm so not mega wide by modern standards. However I came from old XC717 so they're good for me.
448g claimed weight confirmed on my kitchen scales.
They're the first hookless rims I've used. No tyre instability noted.
They're also the first non-eyeletted rims I've built up. No problems so far using normal Sapim polyax nipples.
Usually I've gone for welded seam and erred away but decided that's more snobbery than based on evidence! 🙂
WTB KOM starts from 440g and runs up to 500g for the 29mm internal width one. They're a bit bendy mind.

I found them good too, especially for the low price. Won't get that much lighter in alu. Used for about a year but only for gravel so no idea how they would hold up to harder stuff.
DT XR391 - 25mm internal, 29mm external, 440g
Ok thanks, I'll have a look at all those and comeback here after.
wtb kom, I've got the 23 and 25 ones and would try the 29mm. they're very good

Are these 'trail strong'?
Ive been running American classic wide lightening rims. I think they weigh around 380 for a 29er but might be wrong.
The tubeless rim is light and at 32mm wide x 22mm deep. It is wider, stiffer and supports the tire better for improved ground control.
My friends and I have all run these. Some with great success, others dinked the rim but still held air. Unfortunately I don't think they make them anymore and they are fairly expensive but cheaper than carbon, just.
Spank oozy trail 295 , 490g iirc. Stiff (some reviews say a bit like carbon) and very strong. Nice colours too. 25mm internal width
