Hello,

After a few recommendations for a light trail/commuter shoe for about £80.
I have been looking at the Giro Rumble VR but have been informed about looking for something stiffer.
I currently use a set of Answer Palisade (the model with 3 straps) and they are OK but the straps are a bit shagged out, had them 5 or 6 years now....
Being a non-performance kind of guy would I really notice the flex in the giro that much that I would wish I had a stiffer shoe?
Any recommendations for other shoes would be gratefully received, Evans has a nice looking set of Louis Garneau LS-100 MTB? The good thing about the GIRO is I can support my LBS.

Thanks in advanced

Cheers, Steve

The Rumble is a good shoe, according to my colleague at work. If you shop from always riding, there's 10% off and the code RIDE20 gives an additional 20%, so yours for £47-odd. Free postage returns if you don't like them/don't fit.

Edit:saw LBS comment - feel free to ignore my post, but I'll leave it as a PSA of 30% off at always riding.

No worries. I would steer you away from DZRs- mine lasted 18 months before splitting across the cleat slots. Shame, as I liked the style and lack of bulk.

Hello. Found this post and trying to avoid replicating similar posts.

I'm after new shoes as mine (Shimano MO64s) are done after 18 months of daily commuting (about 5 miles each way; mostly tarmac, flat roads).

The issue I have is my pointy toes! They basically punched a hole in the tip of the shoe - so I need something a bit tougher around that area, ideally south of £100. Would appreciate any tips.
