I'm curious...it's not an area I know well, my guess is Synapses won't take 28mm + 'guards, it seems you can't get frame only and I don't want a Sportive high head tube either. Happy with disc mounts or not.
Any ideas? Chinese guys?
How light?
Kinesis racelights will take 28mm and mudguards, a very popular winter frame in the NE as winter lasts from September to May. Also Dolan might be worth a look as might ribble as their winter bikes are popular and I believe more aimed at winter racers who don't want a relaxed fit bike.
The new version of the Hewitt Audax carbon
1.2kG and 400g fork, will take 28 tyres AND guards.
I had one of the older ones for a couple of years and it was great.
here you go
and it's here

genesis equilibrium may fit the bill and there are deals on these around.
I think you can get both disc and other mount.
Equlibriums aren't exactly light, and to be honest 25c and guards are close on the rim brake version.
my old kinesis tk3 (aluminium) was ok with 28's and chromoplastics.
quite light and a nice taper carbon fork. If you're flush then the
kinesis gran fondo ti (old=rim brakes, new=discs) is as generous as the tk3 but rides nicer. then there's the new 4s (even newer version has
discs too! )
Light please, 1-1.5kg?
The idea is one bike for summer (light), winter (mudguards and wide tyres) and touring (rack, stiffness).
Ideally something I could get in the trade.
Dolan Dual. Full carbon winter frame with their standard geometry.
So I ordered a Synapse in the end, 10.2kg std build and 28mm + guards seem OK.
Hopeing it will do the job, a shame tight clearances & no eyelets are regarded as a positive!
