I own 2 L&M ARC lights. Last year one of my batteries showed signs of ageing and only output 1 hour of light so I stuck to the other light which provided 3 hours. This year, having sat in the garage the good light now only gives about 2 hours and seems to be fading too.
Is there any way to recover this or are they fit for the bin?
Li-ion or Ni-MH?
They used to advise you put Ni-MH batts away fully charged and kept in the fridge for long periods. I used to get mine out for a charge/discharge cycle during long periods of disuse too.
If a few charge/discharge cycles dosn't bring it back, you can get replacement batts, or canibalise a knackered batt for the connector and make/have made your own new batt.
Ni-MH. I'll try a few charge/discharge cycles and see how it goes.
I left mine plugged into the lamp unit for about 9 months. Unsurprisingly, it was faily well discharged! Took about 5 charge cycles to come back to 2-2.5 hrs runtime. The battery is down to 2 now, so I'm going to strip it and replace the cells.
